“In all my years of fishing Lake El Salto, nothing compares to the quality of catches our group just experienced,” said Anglers Inn guest Louis Polish, a seasoned El Salto angler with more than nine years of Anglers Inn adventures. “Each day, every boat landed well over 100 bass — and they were all big. We caught more than three dozen fish over 8  pounds and seven that pushed past the 9‑pound mark during our three full days and two partial days on the lake.”

A private contractor from Las Vegas, Polish has made numerous trips to El Salto. His outdoor‑focused company, Alpha Landscapes, has operated for nearly 35 years, specializing in concrete slabs for homes, parking lots, and driveways. The business also includes a large residential and commercial landscaping division, complete with maintenance services, as well as swimming pool and outdoor patio construction — often featuring full outdoor kitchens.

“We had wonderful weather throughout the trip,” Polish added. “It rained a little, but never enough to affect our time on the water. Our go‑to baits were the ever‑popular 10‑inch black and blue Berkley PowerWorm and deep‑diving crankbaits in citrus or blue‑and‑white patterns. We also caught many fish on a shad‑colored Kaitech swimbait, retrieved slow and deep. The boats were in great shape, and the guides already knew exactly where the big fish were holding after the time away.”

Polish was equally impressed with the Anglers Inn facilities after the hiatus. “The lodge was in tip‑top shape, as if there had been no downtime,” he said. “The rooms were clean and fresh, the A/C worked perfectly, and we were hosted by the best — Jose, Sammy, and Ramon. The service and dining were outstanding. Each night at dinner we swapped stories and made plans for our return next year.”
